Product Details

Dark Exile metal print by Michael Frank.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description

Original painting of my envision of the exile from television of my boyhood idol. Growing up in the early 50's, not many people could afford television. Nor were there many programs for children. One family on the block had a television, and every day at 4:30 p.m. they would turn it around so that the neighborhood kids could view a certain program through their screen door. Buffalo Bob would come on and ask "What time is it kids"? And we would sing out "It's Howdy Doody time"! He may be in an old warehouse collecting dust. Some say he is in the Smithonian Institute. But I will always remember Howdy Doody and all the other wonderful characters on the show. So long Howdy, Buffalo Bob, Clarabell,-------

Michael Frank

Michael Frank has been painting for over 35 years. He has developed his skills from attending many artist workshops and some college, but mainly from studying the works of the "Hudson River School" artists of the mid to late 1800's. Some of their landscape locations were very exotic, but it really didn't matter. Because of their attention to detail, coloring and strong direction of light, you would think that you were looking at a magical place, while in a magical moment. That's what I strive to acheive. Michael considers himself a representational luminous painter of landscapes & seascapes. He usually starts with the grisaille method of painting with a monotone painting over a white or bright yellow canvas. He then starts adding layers...
