Great Southern Reef with underwater forest is an original painting in acrylic and watercolor by Lucia Waterson.
This beautiful artwork presents an underwater forest, a hidden beauty of green kelp seaweed forest, a vital wildlife environment so important for our ecosystem. There are many hidden forests in the deep of the ocean but many of them are not even named or mapped. I chose to paint the Great Southern Reef in Australia because it's particularly beautiful and famous for its unicity.
Vivid orange starfish and fish stand out against the variegated greens, blues, and purples of a dynamic underwater scene. Waves create a sense of movement above the serene sea floor, where patches of pink coral add a pop of color.
